The water problems in the Ballito area have only become worse. The supply dam level is now below 40% with no rain falling in the catchment area. We have also had not nearly enough rain to keep the level of the pool full. Kenwyn has now been forced into taking treated recycled water to top up the pool. Due to the water we are having to use, strict indemnities have been put in place with signs in both English and Afrikaans displayed at the pool area.
Due to the latest water restrictions imposed by Sembcorp as of 5th December, we may no longer top up the level of the swimming pool using potable water.
We can only hope that the rain we do receive at Kenwyn will keep the water at a suitable level or by some miracle the dam receives enough water to have the restrictions lifted or eased.
Unfortunately we will be forced to close the swimming pool for all use should the level reach a stage where the pumps and filters must the turned off.
Kenwyn Trustees and Management apologise for any inconvenience this may cause should the closing of the pool occur.
